n8n, Make, Zapier or custom code?
Zapier is the fastest way to connect popular apps and the most expensive at volume. Make handles more complex logic for less. n8n can be self-hosted with no per-run fees, which suits many workflows or sensitive data. Custom code wins when logic is complex or volume is high. We choose per workflow based on the cost to run and maintain it, and many setups mix them.
AI business process automation: when it helps
AI earns its place where a step needs judgment over text or images: reading a PDF invoice, classifying an email, extracting an order from a free-form message, summarizing a call. For steps with fixed rules we leave it out, because it adds cost and failure points.
