Website migration services without losing your rankings

A website migration moves your site to a new platform, domain or design while keeping the search traffic it already earns. Sylvara Creative runs SEO-safe site migrations: a full URL inventory, a 301 redirect map, content parity checks, launch QA and post-launch monitoring in Search Console, for moves like WordPress, Wix or Squarespace to Next.js.

What's included

  • URL inventory

Every URL with traffic, rankings or backlinks, from a crawl, Search Console and analytics.

  • Redirect map

Each old URL sent to its closest new page in one hop, with no chains or loops.

  • Content parity

Titles, headings, copy, internal links and structured data checked page by page.

  • Launch QA and monitoring

Redirects tested on launch day and Search Console watched in the weeks after.

What an SEO site migration service covers

Sites lose rankings in a migration for a handful of avoidable reasons: changed URLs without redirects, redirects pointing to the home page, titles and copy dropped during the rebuild, missing structured data, and staging settings like noindex pushed to production. A migration service exists to catch each of those before launch.

We snapshot every important page's SEO fields before the change, compare them on staging, map every old URL to its new home and test the redirects the day the new site goes live.

Platform migrations: WordPress, Wix and Squarespace to Next.js, and Shopify replatforms

Moving from WordPress, Wix or Squarespace to Next.js usually changes URL patterns for blog posts, categories and images. Shopify uses fixed paths for products, collections and pages, so moving a store to or from Shopify always needs a redirect map. We plan those rules up front and keep the URLs that already rank whenever the new platform allows it.

Domain changes and redesigns

For a domain change, we redirect every old URL page to page, use the Change of Address tool in Search Console and keep the old domain renewed and redirecting. Google recommends keeping redirects in place for at least a year; we suggest keeping them for good. For a redesign on the same domain, the goal is simpler: keep the URLs that rank and the content that earned those rankings.

When you may not need a migration service

If you are only changing the design and keeping every URL and every page's text, your developer's launch checklist may be enough. Still check two things on launch day: that robots.txt and noindex tags from staging didn't ship, and that Search Console shows no spike in errors.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website migration cost?

An SEO-safe website migration starts at USD 1,500, including the URL inventory, redirect map, launch QA and 8 weeks of Search Console monitoring. Larger sites and store replatforms are quoted by URL count.

Will we lose traffic during a migration?

Some movement in the first weeks is normal while Google recrawls the site. Nobody can guarantee rankings, but a planned migration removes the avoidable causes of lasting loss.

Can you handle the SEO while another agency builds the new site?

Yes. We work alongside your developer or agency: we provide the inventory, redirect map and checklists, then test staging and the launch.

Can you migrate our site to Next.js?

Yes. We build the new Next.js site and run the migration in the same project, so URLs, redirects and SEO fields are planned with the build.

Shall we start with a diagnosis?

A free first call to understand your business and the problem to solve. We work in English and Spanish with companies in the United States, Canada, Spain, Argentina and Uruguay.
